The tool gosu is used so that the mvn is run as the same user as yourself, so the files are not created with the same file owner as the caller. I think, in a single user laptop, this might not add much value. The first time I ran it, it seemed to go through fine and create the ranger_dev image. However, I seemed to have trouble running it. I wasn’t sure what was wrong with it and decided to clean up the image (docker rmi) and try to run the script again.
