Ranger resided in HiveServer2 when invoked in beeline.

Hive Metastore authorization via Ranger can be done by enabling the
following property in hive-site.xml

 hive.metastore.pre.event.listeners =
org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.security.authorization.plugin.metastore.HiveMetaStoreAuthorizer.
