i'm sorry for posting this, i knew i must have been doing something wrong because no java app is that hard to install. reminds me of the old nmake days. feeling kinda silly, but i didnt realise for the last 4 month ive been running tomcat 5.5. so note to self, and anyone as daft, check everything in the install guide and even if you think youre right, check anyway
