Yes, this is a problem with alexa's thumbnails.
Compare these two:

Alexa's thumbnails are usually pretty good but when they're not (it's
wrong for my blog too), I don't know what the remedy is. I was thinking
of suggesting another source for thumbnails to our front-end team :)
