in that case I am not sure... I was using version 4.0 with a 3.x
template and that didn't work. It might still be a template issue
or that the comments are really closed by settings or the
article was already then xx days.
I am to new to roller to really give you a correct answer, sorry.

Hey Odelya,
the is properly because you are using a old roller 3.x template on
your 4.0 installation.
Try to use one of the supplied templates with your installation (like
brushed metal)
and see if that solves your problem. If that's the case,
you need to modify the template you want to use for 4.0.
I believe that dave is going to blog one day about the template
changes between 3 and 4.
