I found this example on the net:
      Properties props = new Properties();
      props.put("mail.smtp.host", "smtp.gmail.com");
      props.put("mail.smtp.auth", "true");
      props.put("mail.smtp.port", "465");
      props.put("mail.smtp.socketFactory.port", "465");
      props.put("mail.smtp.socketFactory.class",
"javax.net.ssl.SSLSocketFactory");
      props.put("mail.smtp.socketFactory.fallback", "false");
      props.put("mail.debug", "true");

Nice. Sounds like we need to allow those same properties to be
specified in roller-custom.properties. I think the code that
reads/reacts to mail property settings is all in a single
"MailProvider" class, so it would be easy to patch ;-)

I think this will be very helpful:

I will be giving it a try on GlassFish tonight.
