Sorry, I'm using ServiceMix-1.0-M2. I'm not using the bundled version of Spring, I'm using spring 1.2.3 vanilla.
I solved this problem by removing the two classes in javax/xml/namespace from the stax-api-1.0.jar. Any ideas why this was causing a problem? I looks like a classloader issue, but I'm not sure why I'm getting it.
