I just downloaded ServiceMix 1.0 and the distribution is over 35M.
The distro is on the large size. We can hopefully trim it down a
little over time, e.g. it'd be nice to remotely download the PXE
deployment units from the PXE site so we don't have to keep shipping
it in each distro etc. Maybe as a start we could make the PXE demo a
separate download so folks not interested in BPEL can avoid that part
of the download? Possibly we could exclude some of the optional jars
too?
As I
opened the ZIP file I see a lot of .dat files in examples\bpel
\derbdb\seg0
and examples\bpel\derbydb\log. Are these necessary as part of the
distribution or are they artifacts that should've been left out?
This turned out to be my bad for a not-quite-clean CVS checkout when
I did the release. All fixed now with the 1.0.1 distro. The tar.gz is
up there, the zip is slowly making its way there.
