There seems a lot of duplicated information between the servicemix wiki and the homepage at http://www.servicemix.org/Home

This might seem like a dumb question but as I am just about to start reading about servicemix I wanted to verify:
a) are these just different views of exactly the same information or
b) is one view more up-to-date than the other, and if so which.

Well spotted Peter :)

The servicemix.org website is actually rendered from the wiki contents; so they are always just about in sync. Well the slight difference is that Confluenza, the tool which renders the wiki content as static HTML tends to cache the HTML (in case Confluence is down), so sometimes the servicemix.org is a little behind (like an hour or so). If ever you want to render the latest and greatest page on servicemix.org then append the ?refresh=1 to the URL and it will disable caching.

e.g.

http://servicemix.org?refresh=1

Also when viewing a page on servicemix.org, you can click on the [edit] link (bottom right of the page) and you can edit the page. Also 2 handy pages to edit are

the left hand navigation bar
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/SM/Navigation

and the top right navigation bar
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/SM/QuickLinks

For more details see

I've added a FAQ entry to capture this...
