For Spring2, you don't need anything extra from Shale, unless you need EL based access to the Spring ApplicationContext. But (from my understanding of the original post), the problem comes when combining Spring2's native JSF support with shale-tiger -- it did not sound like shale-spring-xxx.jar was involved. Craig
