Interesting, so I tested it again after three hours, and it worked fine, picked up the correct cookie and went on as if nothing had happened. I'm not sure what is different from what I had previously configured, but it's possible that something else caused the scenario I'm seeing, like I had to force close the app at one point (maybe that wipes out cookies). I'll try again tomorrow and see if it's still working, and if so, close up this question.
