Does it make any sense or is it even possible to access Shiro's Subject from the EJB tier in order to check for permissions / roles inside, say, methods of a stateless EJB3 bean or are Shiro's annotations and checks only meant to be done on the web container (xhtml and JSF backing beans) ??
