I use Shiro with JEE7 on Wildfly in combination with https://github.com/ops4j/org.ops4j.pax.shiro and still have not found any security framework that is as lightweight, flexible and easy to use as Shiro. But I sure hope that CDI will be officially supported by Shiro in version 2.
