Thanks for reporting. This is kinda weird and I can't reproduce this. Were doing the experiments using a clean compiled Spark master branch? And I don't think you have to use parquet-mr 1.8.1 to read Parquet files generated using parquet-mr 1.8.1 unless you are using something not implemented in 1.7.

Do you think i am missing something here or is this is a potential bug? Any workarounds to use parquet files with version PARQUET_2_0
