OK. Found the fix.

This log4j.properties are read from the log4j.properties set in
hadoop, that is pointed by the $HADOOP_HOME. So I have to apply the
change I mentioned in my previous mail to
$HADOOP_HOME/etc/hadoop/log4j.properties.
