Does Apache storm supports cluster environment. If yes, does it supports
load balancing as well?
Yes, storm can be deployed in cluster environment. It supports load
balancing too by distributing the task over cluster nodes.
Is there any dependancy of AppServer? (Is it compatible with other App
servers than Apache Tomcat)?
Not sure about the dependency on Appservers like Apache Tomcat
Can Apache storm be deployed on Windows platform?
Infact storm-0.9.2 (incubating) has support for windows platform. You can
find the .cmd files with latest commits from (
https://github.com/apache/incubator-storm/tree/master/bin)
Are there major configuration changes required if deployment need to be
shifted from Windows platform to Unix/Linux, etc?
You need to have zookeeper running on windows machine and .bat files are
required to run the storm daemons (nimbus,ui, supervisor) and to submit the
topology. Apart from this, no configuration changes are not required.
Is Nimbus mandatory for storm? (Our development env is neither using
Nimbus nor any other cloud environment)
Yes, Nimbus is mandatory for storm.
