Is there a switch or something on oc4j that will cause the ServletContextListener.contextInitialized() method to be called before the init methods of the servlets that are configured to load on startup? I think the behavior I have seen on OAS 9.0.3 is that contextInitialized() happens after the init() methods are run. This behavior differs from Tomcat and the SunOne server.

You can do this at the application level by a <classpath> entry in the orion-web.xml that is deployed with the app or at the OC4J Level as a whole in the j2ee/home/config/application.xml
