OK, client validation is a problem, that's true. I don't use it, but yes, it's usefull.
I found punycode for that: https://github.com/bestiejs/punycode.js It's MIT-licence, I'm not sure we can use it for standard. I'm not really good in javascript, but I can it to write my own decoder.
