Hi, We are considering removing tooltip support from the Struts UI tags in an upcoming 7.x release. It has been deprecated since Struts 7.0.1.
This covers the tooltip, tooltipConfig, javascriptTooltip, tooltipCssClass, tooltipDelay and tooltipIconPath attributes, as in: <s:textfield name="name" label="Name" tooltip="Your full name"/> and the JavaScript tooltips enabled with javascriptTooltip="true", which use the bundled domTT.js library. In the xhtml and css_xhtml themes these render the small tooltip icon next to the field label. The replacement is the native HTML title attribute, which the tags already support: <s:textfield name="name" label="Name" title="Your full name"/> or any JavaScript tooltip library of your choice. Before we decide, we would like to know whether anyone still relies on it. If you use it, please reply and tell us how, especially if the alternatives above would not work for you. Thanks in advance!
