That would depend upon how your cluster is setup though too. Each node in our clusters/farms has its own independent disk, running its own independent copy of the app ... and has its own independent log file.
I can't imagine why someone would use a shared mount in a cluster environment. The whole thing about a cluster is generally a combination of performance and high-availability. I guess not everyone clusters for HA, but having a cluster share a mount would certainly work against HA.
