But the above has never been the role of struts - to create view components.
Yes, I agree and understand the relationships between the projects better now. I must apologise, much of the previous mail was frustration talking. The reason for linking it with Struts was that I wanted to (a) use message resource keys and (b) forwards and it seemed obvious to me then to look for a Strutified navbar. Sometimes trying to put a Struts forward or similar into HTML can be oddly awkward.
After all, I'm just a UI guy... the DB guys are the "real" IT guys:)
:-) Server side developers think the same. Or at least I did when I was one... "I gotta have C, C++, Powerbuilder, Java, J2EE, WebLogic, EJB, XML, XPath, JAXP, JAXB, XSLT, Ant, SQL, more SQL, Sybase stored procs, Sybase admin, Unix admin, etc etc ... they have SQL. And get paid more. And go home early. Mmm." If I was being cynical and advising comp sci grads, I'd have to say, "Oracle DB admin at an investment bank = lucrative and easier than alternatives." :-)
