Yea, I just realized that was a bad choice of words- "layer" -- totally bad. I didn't really mean another layer in the sense of "view" "model", etc. I just meant 'layer' in the sense of just a seperate package (in this case Helper classes).
Bad choice of words on my part since you are correct 'layer' implies something much more. Sorry for the confusion. My fault totally.
