It's hard to generalize about Shale as a whole, since it is under
active development ... but I consider the view controller part to be
pretty stable and functional.  For a viewpoint on how *I* rank that
API stability of the various packages in Shale, go to the Javadocs for
the core library
(http://people.apache.org/~craigmcc/shale-core-javadocs/) and scroll
the overview page down to the section entitled "API Package Target
Audiences and Stability Ratings".  That will tell you whether you
should be messing with classes in that package at all :-), and how
likely I think it is that you'll see future changes.
