Thanks for the reply. I am using same "SopForm" between actions. Only
thing is my "authriserList" contains PersonForms. I am having the same
value "Paul" in the authoriser. But still the default value is not set
to "Paul". Do I need to change any settings of the dropdown list.

If users selects "Paul", then SopForm.authoriser gets set to "Paul"
As long as this property is still equal to "Paul" when you display the
edit page, the <html:select> will automatically search through the
list of options to find one with the same value and pre-select it.
I suspect you are allowing the value of SopForm.authoriser to be reset
at some place, or using a new form for this edit action.
Oh, and there is no need to "bump" your question thread. It is likely
to produce fewer answers, not more.
