I'm glad it worked. I use Tomcat and I have not had any permissions related upload problems like that. Don't forget you should try to secure the 'write' and 'delete' permissions to the webapp (or specific directory) you are using. That way someone can't use that code to override something important somewhere else on the app server or even on the operating system itself, depending on which account your service runs as/under.
