Well we are getting closer then, it is not related to the ActionContext (which I doubted anyway) but to ajax. Set debug="true" on the head tag and see if there are any errors. The other thing, is the submit button, or the anchor inside the div that you are trying to update (if it is then you need to set showLoadingText="false" in the submit button or the the anchor)?
