I think you have more than one question :), start by checking out the
tutorials:

and take a look at "Starting with Struts" book:

http://www.infoq.com/minibooks/starting-struts2

Then you can move to the Dojo stuff:

http://struts.apache.org/2.x/docs/ajax-tags.html

I would also advise to download Struts Showcase as it has many examples that
will help you get started.
