direct access to freemarker files

Greetings to all,

i have implemented an area on a website only for registered users. The 
issue is that i want to avoid people calling freemarker files directly 
from the browser since they will not produce html resulting in viewing 
the freemarker file code ( it should redirect if appropriate session not 
found)

What is the best way to avoid this ? Change apache to deny direct access 
to ftl files ?
