After correctly installing a recent copy of maven2, make sure you have an internet connection (dependencies will be downloaded for you automatically), change to the root of the source and type:
mvn install That's pretty much it.I discovered the plugins directory didn't build when the main source built. To build this I did this:
cd plugins mvn install

Test failures are by default treated as build failures by maven. To work around this (say, because you're fixing the broken tests, or you are working on something else), run this:
