Hi all, just yesterday i had the very same problem in rails with date field, so i searched for disabled definition and found this: http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/interact/forms.html#successful-controls and http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/interact/forms.html#h-17.12 It looks like disabled flag will simply prevent the field from submiting.
