All that is obvious from those errors is that the Tomcat application server has run out of memory and has halted as a result. It is not obvious why this would happen; there are many reasons it could happen.
Also, my own app does not have a copy of servlet.jar inside its WAR file and I do not believe that it is a correct practice to have it there.
