i done this:

this is the class taht create the list

    @Override
    public String execute() throws Exception {
       items= mgmt.getAllItem();
        resultSize=getItems().size();
        return SUCCESS;
    }

    public List<Item> getItems() {
        return items;
    }


    public Integer getResultSize() {
        return resultSize;
    }
