Thanks for the kind words, I've updated the sitemesh decorator to use JSTL instead of scriptlets now and it does indeed look neater. The decorator.xml file should instruct SiteMesh to use different decorators for different paths. Newbies need to get started off on the right foot, and not with bad practices.
