Tried with 1.5 and makes no difference. get same error C:\synapse-1.2\bin>synapse -sample 1011b "Starting Synapse/Java ..." Using SYNAPSE_HOME: C:\SYNAPS~1.2\bin\.. Using JAVA_HOME: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_17
