The most likely problem is that you don't have the required PDF
parsing libraries in your classpath. Check that your classpath
contains the libraries listed on the Getting Started page on the Tika
web site for the Tika version you're using.

I have two additional questions. Should these dependencies already be
satisfied in the jars that come with the Solr distribution?
The reason I ask is because I'm trying to integrate Tika parsing into
Solr indexing.
If not can I pick their jar files somewhere so I don't have to build
them all?
