Yeah, according to that very wiki page: "...Releases of Tika version 1.2
and beyond will ship with tika-server enabled..."
So my question was, "OK, if that's true, where is it? I must be missing
something."
I think it's available directly from maven, eg
http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/org/apache/tika/tika-server/1.3/tika-server-1.3.jar
(I'm building it now...boatload of dependencies in there...would be nice
to have a concise list if/when you update the page.)
The full list of dependencies are maintained in the maven pom for the
server. You should just be able to checkout the Tika svn tree, run "mvn
install", make a cup of tea, then find the tika-server-1.4-SNAPSHOT jar
waiting for you in the tika-server/target/ directory when it's done
(Building Tika without Maven is not recommended for beginners!)
