If the question is "why didn't extractInlineImages work on a specific
document"? That's probably a bug or could be user error in the configuration...

If the question is "which one should we use: extractInlineImages or render each
page", the answer is: I have no idea. :) It probably depends on your documents. I
suspect one strategy will be better with some documents and the other on another set.
You could use tika-eval to find out which one works best on your docs! :)
