Well that caveat has blocked me twice now.
Admittedly I need to read the rather lengthy installation docs more
carefully.
That said, Hbase's development/testing single node install is a 1 page /
3 step install. Takes 5 minutes and voila its installed and accepting
requests.
Would be super nice if Trafodion could install ontop of that and skip
Hortonworks and Cloudera's super slow and sensitive installs. Wasted
more time than I am willing to admit and ultimately failed to install
Trafodion.
Cheers
Pieter

Trafodion is more sensitive to HBase version. So if later distros have same
HBase version, then they are likely compatible, caveat a version check at
installation time. It is a matter of whether anyone in the development
community has tested against a particular distro version.

The supported HDP and CDH version will not change from R2.1 to R2.2 as far
as I know, and CentOS 7 still cannot be supported by R2.2.
The R2.3 will have CentOS 7 support as target feature.
Please check
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/TRAFODION/Release+2.2 for
features planned for Release 2.2
Thanks,
Ming

Hi,
Some questions regarding release 2.2.
Is it still going to run on top of Hortonworks or Cloudera environments?
If so will it run on their latest environments?
Will it run on Centos 7?
Thanks
Pieter
