Just declare turbine as a dependency in your pom and away you go.

2.3.3-RC1 is very stable, though a couple of patches have been committed.

Juergen was acting as release manager for 2.3.3 - unfortunately he seems
to have moved on.

3.3 is just fine - it has a respectable m2 plugin.
