I was one of the nay-sayers way back.

But I've changed my mind.  Let's try this out.

I still think that it would be useful to have install scripts that would deal with popular runtime combinations (Geronimo, Tomcat, etc).

But your approach here will give us some "smal and simple" packages for folk who are doing "small and simple" stuff.

+1 to put it into trunk.
+1 to put it into the build too.

Some in the project didn't seem to think that it was a good or useful approach [1]. There's also a discussion now on another level of project structure [2] which I must say I don't really believe in.

I'm using what I put in sandbox now and find it useful, do you think it can coexist in trunk with other approaches?
