UIMA Ruta without Eclipse

Hi,
I have seen in UIMA Ruta doc that UIMA Ruta can be applied without UIMA
Ruta Workbench. Is there an example on how to use UIMA Ruta directly on
CAS. Thank you for any suggestion.
