My understanding is that matrix queries were supported in Usergrid 1.x but there were some limitations and I've heard it said that they "never really worked." I'm not sure what the situation is with 2.x. There is only one test that mentions matrix parameters (MatrixQueryTests, and it passes in 2.x) and there is no mention in the docs.
