One followup question: we're not able to get it running under OpenJDK when using the precompiled version of Usergrid -- there's the nasty shiroFilter related exception on startup in catalina.out. Is OpenJDK really the recommended Java, or should we be using Oracle JDK like it says in the installation instructions? Or do we need to build Usergrid ourselves if using OpenJDK?

Thanks in advance,

Petteri

From experience, this combination seems pretty reliable:

   ElasticSearch 1.4.4
   Cassandra 2.1.13
   Tomcat 7.0.68
   OpenJDK 1.8.0_51

And yes, I agree it would be very nice to have a complete support matrix. The closest thing we have now is at the start of the Deployment Guide: http://usergrid.apache.org/docs/installation/deployment-guide.html

    Greetings --

We're developing a node + Usergrid service, and are having significant
stability issues with it. In particular, Usergrid appears to be pretty
picky about the Cassandra version in use; for example, we've noticed
that 2.2.7 works better than 2.2.8, some 3.x versions don't work
    at all
    while others work fine.

The provided Usergrid installation documentation is rather vague about
the recommended/required platform component versions. Could some
    of the
developers weigh in on this? Specifically:

For Usergrid 2.1.0, what are the recommended versions of

    - Elasticsearch

    - Cassandra

    - Java

    - Tomcat 7

    - Ubuntu Linux (if applicable)

Additionally, it would be really nice if this information was
    available
as a matrix on the official documentation, per Usergrid version.

    Thanks in advance,

    /Petteri
