For what it's worth, we have tested it with Cassandra 3 and Elastic 1.7, and it was unstable. Not recommended!

I think the docs are correct. Usergrid has not been tested (or used in production as far as I know) with Cassandra 3 or newer (post 1.7?) versions of ElasticSearch.
