If the state is reload or reloading, the vcld should be in the process of reloading the node with an image. You can watch the vcld.log file to see what it is doing. Normally, if the reload fails, it will place the computer in the failed state. However, it is possible that it failed in some way that kept the state of the VM from getting updated to "failed". Again, you can see what happened in the vcld.log file. - From what you described about the vmdk files, it sounds like the capture part was successful.
