Hi: I am new to velocity as you can tell in my last post and to programming in general. I am in pretty much a sink or swim environment and im treading water pretty hard to stay afloat but I am surviving. I have learned to use Dreamweaver pretty proficiently for a ColdFusion environment which is my main study at the moment. All this is so that we can support and build a corporate intranet based on the AbleCommerce CFMX5.5 version which is a CF app built on top of a Java Engine. I am running MySQL and learning as we go. I realize that I will have to become versed in SubVersion as we manage the building of a data driven Intranet along with the workings of Able Commerce. Able uses Velocity to build dynamic functionality into it's email outputs so that customers, vendors, and the sales dept can receive dynamicly generated emails. My problem with all of this is of course the learning curve. I have purchased Apress Pro Jakarts Velocity, and Wiley's Mastering Apache Velocity Books. I also yesterday stumbled onto Dreamweaver tool links but the link was dead. With all of this I have 3 questions. 1) What would you all reccomend that I add to my Velocity tool box? 2) Where can I get that Velocity Dreamweaver Plugin? 3) I know this is not the place to ask but Im sure someone here knows... Who or where would I have a discussion with about Subversion if that is the upgrade management tool, to learn how to use it and manage an intranet development using a couple different version upgradeable programs and our own custom programming to manage growth and version upgrades? Forgive me I am so new to programming its sickening, but after about 18 months of understanding what we have here and what needs to be done and how to manage it I have a pretty good grasp on what has to be done. Now I am aquiring the HOW to manage it, and collecting the tools to do so. Thanks for the listening ears. Hope to grow some on this list.
