Hi,

Velocity is NOT a dead project as I can testify.

I got couple of production quality projects using Velocity either as a
web template engine or as a standalone module to generate emails. They
have been working fantastically well and very efficient. I especially
like the simplicity of it as it enforces the separation of java logic
from the view/template.

I think Velocity is a mature project so that's probably why it hasn't
got a lot of activities. But a lot of sites or companies are using it
I believe.

If you need an example, just take a look at my site, www.JiansNet.com,
it is built on top of Java and Velocity engine. If you want to have
questions regarding the usage of Velocity, I am happy to answer as
well.

Good luck,

Jian
