Jonathan, We've tested the 0.6.0 release against the Cassandra 0.7. I think we should consider upgrading to 1.0 in Whirr 0.7.0.
Can you open an issue for this? You can give it a try if you want. It's not difficult to develop / modify a Whirr service.
