If you need a more quick and dirty solution go to https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/WHIRR-518 download the install_java.sh file and put it under $WHIRR_HOME/core/src/main/resources/functions then execute mvn clean install. It should work as expected. At least it works for me. Marco
