Unfortunately the integration does not work with later versions (the
site made the documentation so explicit after users complained). I'll
look and see how easy it is to maybe make the Saxon engine pluggable,
but for now, sadly, you can't just swap out the engine (that would, of
course, be ideal)

Thank you.

Ok, for SE v1.4, you need some extra libraries
to run Saxon in order to add JAXP (the 8.6 install
page only mentions that they are needed for Saxon
8.2 but that could just be a lagging site update).

But the distinction doesn't apply to us anyway
since we are an SE v5 shop. Does that mean I can
go ahead and use Saxon 8.6 with XmlBeans provided
I use the correct scomp switch? Or are the
measures needed to support SE v1.4 what makes
the two incompatible? If that's what it is, what
are the incompatibilities? Maybe I can work around
them somehow.

I haven't even tried the combination because
the XmlBeans documentation is pretty clear that
it won't work with anything other than Saxon
8.1.1. Is it worth giving a try? What should
be tested if I do?
